The technological side of ultrasound processing in cleaning

As a rule, when the parts are ready for processing they are loaded in the processing area in bulk. However, to avoid damage to components and spraying solutions, cassettes, baskets and other accessories, which lock after you clear the same parts in the bath can be used. It is undesirable to use high steeping tanks, in which the level of the solution exceeds the level of knobs, descended into these assistive devices. It is best to use shallow metal (enameled) or plastic pots that allow the operator avoid any contact with solutions.

In order to soften the dirt and increase its fluidity before cleaning the parts are heated, which facilitates the subsequent purification. This operation is most advantageously carried out at a large mass of parts cleaning. Immersing such components in a cleaning bath in a cold condition reduces the temperature of the washing solution, which slows down and complicates the purification process. Heated items can be implemented with solvent vapors by immersion in a hot liquid or in any other way.

Abrasive Solutions

Before ultrasound cleaning preparing the appropriate solution may be required. It is important to observe the percentage of the components of the solution and security measures. Storage of pre-cooked solutions (especially acid-base ones) must take place in designated areas only within the allowable limit. Tanks with mixed materials must be capped.

The abrasive slurry for the ultrasonic deburring and removal of burr is prepared in the same manner as solutions. According to the technology and the mixing ratio the abrasive material is diluted with the desired liquid. The powder can be dosed in technical or other scales.

If the dosage of abrasive materials is determined at the workplace by the operator, it must be remembered that boron carbide loses its cutting properties when stored without a cover. Therefore, to weigh out the desired dose, it is necessary to immediately use abrasive or pour portions of desired weight in a sealed glass or cans. In the preparation and use of such suspension it is necessary to comply with the general and special precautions, avoiding spraying dry abrasive indoor slurry.

Importance should be attached to the preparation of components for cleaning. The items are delivered to the operator in the inter-operation container. The crucial parts and components are not delivered in bulk, but in a certain position, or in a specific order that would prevent their damage. With such an arrangement the operator spends the minimum time on loading parts and assemblies in aids for cleaning (containers, baskets and so on).
